A half-inch is the difference between a garment that fits and one that doesn't. We treat every measurement like it matters - because it does.

No one should repeat themselves.

Asking a customer to re-explain their measurements is a failure of the system, not the customer. Information should flow automatically to whoever needs it.

Tools should be invisible.

The best software gets out of the way. Tailors shouldn't think about the app - they should think about the craft. Retailers shouldn't manage the software - they should manage the relationship.

The customer is the missing piece.

Retailers and tailors have always had a relationship. What's been missing is a way to put the customer in the loop - so they're not chasing updates, re-explaining their measurements, or just giving up on getting things altered at all.

Actual Tailoring was built by a clothing designer and former retail worker who kept running into the same problem: jeans that needed hemming, no time to go in person, and no good way to hand off the information once you finally did. The retail background made the retailer-tailor disconnect obvious. The rest came from asking what a system built for all three people in that chain would actually look like. This is that system.
